Almost A New Year

Keep Hope and a Dog

A new year brings hope to my heart. In 2023, I hope I can write regularly in this blog again. Write like I once could. I loved it! I miss writing. I miss the blogging community. I hope!

Bella is my current dog. She’s beautiful and mighty powerful. All 14 pounds of her! She turned five years old this year. I hope we enjoy many more years together!

My son is approaching 40. Wow! He’s a good person. I’m blessed. I hope to grow older and older, with better health, and have many more years with my son!

Good thing I had a child when I was relatively young or I’d be pretty old. I can say that now, I hope, with genuine respect for aging, since I’m in on that, and without offense to anyone who considers herself old, because I’m not so young myself anymore.

My late friend, Sonny, used to say he felt like a nineteen-year-old trapped in an old man’s body.

I can relate to that a little, but I don’t feel nineteen. Or 40. Or even 50. I do however feel my own spirit, and that has always been the same. In this way, I can relate to my friend’s experience.

I hope to always feel my own spirit! I hope it keeps lighting my way!

I hope you, dear visitor, also have hope.

I hope the year 2023 is a year that I will live my life more. Life is for living, a wise man told me. I believe it is true!

I hope 2023 brings more healing to us humans and softens some our hearts.

Hope. It’s a good thing!

From Michelle, your blogger at DOGKISSES!

    • Hey Sue,

It’s the wee hours of the morning as I write. I had unexpected oral surgery twice over past several weeks. What an experience. I could write about that, for sure. Sleep has been at odd times because of pain and at times, treatment that allowed me to rest, which is why I’m awake at this hour. Bella keeps close by my side or in my lap! She’s the best little furry friend ever! Thanks for your inspiring comment!

      • So sorry Michelle you have had to undergo this treatment. Dental work 😫 is horrible at the best of times.
        Glad Bella keeps you company.
Sending love and hope you soon heal and feel better.
        Love ❤️ your way ❤️ 💕

        • Thanks Sue. The surgeon who took the wrong tooth just wrote my sister and I. He’s offered to not only fix that tooth, now missing, but to restore other missing teeth I want to replace. I believe this is fair. He’s offered to send me to a good practice nearby. I will need to fix my bite, and the work will take a bit of time, but in the end, I will have my smile back and a healthy mouth again. Yes, Bella is right here by my side, still! I just found out she and my son need dental work as well. Odd how things work isn’t it? At least I can rest knowing my own teeth will be replaced, and then focus on their treatment. (See. I could have blogged about this).

It’s the beginning of March so I must pay bills and those type things. I hope you are doing well. I enjoyed viewing your art when I was awake in the wee hours of morning recently.

Take good care, and I will see you here more often soon!

          Love, Michelle and Bella.

        • That’s good! And yes, I do have a lot to share. It’s true! I finally set up a computer yesterday! Paul Handover shipped it to me many months ago! Took a breach from Amazon to kick me in gear, I guess. I thought I’d never again put plugs in a computer. Each time I’d think of doing it I’d have to lie down. The computer has his password info, so I need to ask him if he recalls it. Then I can do more with it, but now my brain knows how to set up one again. A decade it was! I look forward to seeing things on a real screen. No more little devices. Finally! I have a busy day. Will be around here soon again! Love, Michelle.
