Michelle writes about her life, her journey with chronic pain and illness, healing and hope, and a personal account of how the love of dogs helps along the way. She has traveled the mental healthcare system with her adult son, who has inspired integrating holistic healthcare. Michelle finds healing in nature, is in love with the wild things, her family and a dog, of course.

Dear Michelle,
About three years ago, you completed a survey that I conducted about health blogs. I greatly appreciate your help with that project. I am working on a follow-up study and writing to see if you would be willing to participate. The survey takes about 20-25 minutes to complete and you may receive a small gift card for your time. If you are willing to participate, additional details about the project and the survey are available at the following webpage:

Thanks for your consideration.
Best Regards,
Steve

Hello Dr. Rains,
Thanks for the follow up note. I wondered about the study. I will be happy to participate as soon as I can, which will be within the next couple of days.
Sincerely,
Michelle.

Hi Sue!
I did get it and then my computer went down, but this morning it is up again.
I loved the photo so much, that I saved it to my desktop! (I had a vision of your sweet granddaughter sharing with people about how to use plants for medicine. Of course, she was older in my vision).
Thank you my dear friend, and I’m going to write you today. I’ll read my notifications today also.
Love to you too, and thank you for thinking of me Sue. Your friendship and love sure comes through the wire and I am entirely grateful!
With big hugs and lots of Love,
Michelle.

How nice to see your comment Pam and thank you for your kind wishes. I also hope to write/blog more soon. I’ve been thinking of you, as well as that train! I looked at the inside (a virtual tour) and what a great space it would be for travel. Maybe we will talk soon. You take good care too okay. Love to you, Michelle and family.

Michelle, I have experienced so much over the past few years, trying to decide how to live with chronic pain. All of a person’s life, relationships with both family and friends. from getting out of bed to getting through each day, all while trying to be as upbeat as possible. What a ride we all face. What a shame that there is no set of instructions on how to do it all well. I very much admire your approach, much better than mine I think. There is so much that happens on a daily basis that you have no one in your life that you can speak with about them.
Best regards, Tom

Hello Tom! Thank you for your note.
Yes, living with ongoing pain and fatigue, or other symptoms is for sure quite a “ride we all face.” I always think there are many things I could be doing to get better, but then the day-to-day responsibilities or worse, a sick day, get in the way of taking too many steps forward.
I’m not sure about my approach. I guess I’ve learned some things about acceptance and what I can’t change, but I probably tend to isolate too much. I could probably live with nature if I didn’t have worldly obligations and of course, a family that I love and appreciate, but I feel lately that I have in me the potential to be a hermit!
I have hopes of volunteering this week in Horticulture Therapy, but a nap would be so much easier, lol. We’ll see which I choose. I haven’t been involved in growing plants at the gardens this year, and I miss the benefits. Nurturing a garden is so good for my spirit and mood.
Thank you again for leaving your thoughts and kind words with me today! I hope you are having a peaceful day, or night perhaps?
Take good care and do stay in touch.
Affectionately, Michelle.

Hi Tom! Thanks for stopping to comment on my “Birds.” I have indeed found an outlet for myself and right in my own backyard too! They are not like people though, I admit, so I still wish I had neighbors or more people around to talk with, but for now, it is me and the birds. I did see butterflies today and yesterday, finally. We’ve had floods and rains to the point that everyone has dragonflies. They are pretty, but as you know, they do sometimes kill the butterflies. So, I’ll be glad to get out of my woods and hopefully take a vacation this year. I hope you are doing alright. I am fair, I guess. Pain and fatigue seems to be sticking around for me. I hope too you find your “Birds” so that you may have something of your own that you can enjoy. Please do share if you feel like it okay.
Take good care, and hope to chat again soon!
Affectionately,
Michelle.

Yes, she is lovely and for sure, is always cautious about where she perches. She never stays in one spot for long.
Thanks for stopping by LadyBlueRose 🙂

I imagine so, LBR. She sure took a long time deciding on whether or not she liked my yard. The male came often, but she would only show up briefly. Now she stays a while, relatively speaking.
I sure know what you speak of about time when it comes to watching the birds. I guess it is time well ‘lost’ 🙂
Have a good night,
((hugs)) Michelle.
